"The call of the Sea" has been with me since I was old enough to jump into a lake in Northern Ontario. I am inspired by the many moods of water, sky and light, and the emotions they raise in me and others. That spirit is what I aim to capture in every painting... many through the impressionistic or abstract styles.
With classes in oil and watercolor early in life, most of my later time was involved with family and career. But I did continue to sketch whenever possible. Now I have time to concentrate, acrylic painting has captured me, and I have take many workshops and classes in this medium with professional painters. And I continue to do so as well as experimenting with new techniques. In addition, I am an active member of the North Shore Art Guild and show my work at the Brushstrokes Gallery at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver BC.
I love to paint to stretch myself with new challenges, and to share the beauty, excitement and sensitivity of nature with others. I hope to draw you into my paintings through the mystic wonder of the world around us as I interpret it.
